Why We Do It: To solve the skilled labor crisis for manufacturers. Spruce Creek High School Academy of Information Technology and Robotics at the First Robotics Competition. Where they won the Creativity Award.
What We Do with the Money:
The money we raise exclusively funds our Dream It! Do It! Program. This is our outreach education project to build awareness of the great careers available in manufacturing. Since our first golf tournament in 2011 we have sent speakers into the manufacturing related academies with a great video of local companies we developed; reproduced career posters from the ATC for each of the academies; sponsored the Spruce Creek High School Academy of Information Technologies and Robotics in the First Robotics Competition; gave cash awards to the winners of our 2012 Manufacturers Showcase Robotics Competition; invited, on our dime, students and teachers to the 2012 Awards Banquet; and donated $1000 to each academy to be used for equipment and materials. In addition, we fund scholarships at Daytona State College and internship scholarships. We will be able to continue and expand our efforts with this year's funds.
